Nový vesmírny teleskop má opäť technický problém

Nový Vesmírny teleskop Jamesa Webba zaznamenáva ďalší problém s jedným z hlavných prístrojov pre vedecké pozorovania, MIRI, Mid-Infrared Instrument.

NASA o tom informuje v tomto oznámení.

Prístroj má štyri režimy pozorovania a problém sa vyskytuje v režime MRS, Medium-Resolution Spectroscopy. V tomto režime sa pri najdlhších vlnových dĺžkach znížilo množstvo svetla dopadajúce na senzor.

V ostatných režimoch MIRI ani ostatných prístrojoch sa problém nevyskytuje a teleskop zostáva v činnosti.

Nie je jasné, čo môže tento problém spôsobovať. Pri zmene pozorovacích režimov prichádza ale aj k mechanickému pohybu a pri MRS sa už v minulom roku vyskytoval mechanický problém.

V auguste bolo zaznamenané v mechanizme pre prepínanie medzi typmi vĺn v tomto režime zvýšené trenie. Podľa zistení NASA zvýšené trenie bolo spôsobené kvôli zvýšeným silám pôsobiacim medzi komponentami ložiska pri niektorých podmienkach, NASA vypracovalo plán ako mechanizmus používať a opäť začala režim používať až v novembri.

Príčinu aktuálneho problému NASA zrejme ešte nepozná, bude pokračovať v jej hľadaní a následne preverí možné opatrenia. Podľa aktuálneho oznámenia je jedným z možných opatrení aj predĺžiť pri pozorovaniach expozíciu.

Pozorovania teleskopu predsa mali prispeť k pochopeniu vzniku a fungovania vesmíru a keď sa čo obdeň dojebe, tak to možno vydá, a naviac i so synergetickým efektom karmy za kvalitu zmontovania.
