Robotické vozidlo Mars 2020, ktoré budúci rok NASA pošle na Mars, bolo prvýkrát celou svojou váhou postavené na svoje kolesá.
Prišlo k tomu už na začiatku mesiaca, NASA to oznámila ale až na konci uplynulého týždňa.
Robotické vozidlo Mars 2020 vychádza z návrhu vozidla Curiosity, ktoré je na Marse aktívne od roku 2012. Misia Mars 2020 má odštartovať v júli 2020 a na Mars priletieť 18. februára 2021.
Kolesá sú zatiaľ zrejme najproblematickejším komponentom robotických vozidiel NASA na Marse a pre Mars 2020 sa ich NASA oproti Curiosity pokúsila vylepšiť.
Curiosity má kolesá z hliníka, majú priemer 50 cm, sú široké 40 centimerov a je na nich 19 výstupkov vysokých 7.5 mm. Veľmi skoro sa ale začali výrazne prederavovať a následne sa im dokonca začali odlupovať pevné dezénové výstupky.

Kolesá na Mars 2020 majú priemer 52.5 centimetrov a majú 48 rovných dezénových výstupkov. Na Mars 2020 sú zatiaľ osadené inžinierske vzorky a vymenené za kusy, s ktorými Mars 2020 poletí, budú budúci rok.

Primárnym cieľom misie Mars 2020 bude nájsť stopy a dôkazy prípadného života, konkrétne stopy po minulom mikrobiologickom živote. Za tým účelom bude analyzovať vzorky pôdy a hornín na miestach s vysokou pravdepodobnosťou prítomnosti života v minulosti a zároveň uloží 30 skúmaviek s materiálom pre ich vyzdvihnutie a dopravu na Zem budúcimi misiami na Mars.
Podobne ako u Curiosity bude komplikované pristávanie trvať cca sedem minút, pričom vozidlo musí pri ňom podľa NASA uskutočniť 27 tisíc prepočtov a akcií.
Je skoro vo vyske kolies, tak snad ju nestratia :-)
Mne sa zase paci, ako ma kazde koleso osobneho "kolesara". Pekne s objatim spustat na podlozku, hyckanie a opatera a potom ho vystrelia na Mars medzi sutre do neludskych podmienok :-)

mozno sa snazia minimalizovat pritomnost mikroorganizmov na kolesach, aby ich nahodou nepreniesli na Mars a kontaminovali tym vzorky a povrch Marsu, si aspon myslim.
Samozrejme, nepritomnost mikroorganizmov je dolezita, to sterilne prostredie a oblecenie je OK. Ale mikroorganizmov nepribudne, ked ciste koleso hodim o cistu zem

Som si isty ze ak by oslovili Matador, urobi im pneumatiky ake len budu chciet a vydrzia nie 10 rokov, nie 50 rokov, ale 100 rokov za cenu so zlavou, zavolaj hned a dostanes pribalenu nafukovaciu pannu z gumy.
